Aires 1:48 Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 control surfaces is a resin set of control surfaces for the model of the British carrier fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale.

This cast resin set replaces the movable surfaces of a model in 1:48 scale with separate castings that can be set deflected. Offset rudders, ailerons or flaps are among the simplest ways to bring life into a static model: the machine stops looking like a casting in one piece and starts to look like an airplane parked after a flight. The castings moreover tend to have a thinner trailing edge and a more readable skin structure than a split injection die allows. The manufacturer is Aires, a Czech brand of resin details. It is an accessory, not an aircraft kit.
The Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 was a British carrier fighter-bomber of the late 1940s and belonged to the peak of piston combat aircraft development. It was powered by the powerful Bristol Centaurus radial engine, thanks to which it reached exceptional performance for a piston machine. The FB.11 version was intended for operation from aircraft carriers and, besides the fighter role, also handled attacks on ground targets. The machine served in carrier aviation and later in a number of other countries as well.
Before you cut into the model, think through how the surfaces will be deflected — on a parked airplane the deflections are logically related, not random. Cut the original surfaces off with a thin saw blade and level the edge with sandpaper. Wash the mold release agent off the castings, remove the casting blocks and dry-fit until the gap sits right. Glue with super glue; on larger surfaces a thicker grade of super glue helps, as it gives you time to line things up. Once painted, bring out the gaps with a fine wash that flows in, so that the division of the surfaces stands out.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
