Eduard F4U-1 Corsair Birdcage 1:32 is a set of painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for accurate masking of the glazing and the other transparent parts of the model of the American F4U-1 fighter in its early Birdcage form in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale for the naval Vought F4U-1 Corsair fighter in its early form with the heavily framed canopy known as the Birdcage. The masks, made of fine kabuki paper, follow the intricate glazing frames exactly. They are stuck onto the model, oversprayed with paint and lifted off once it has dried. This is an accessory for a plastic model, not a standalone model: the kit has to be obtained separately.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier and land-based fighter of the Second World War with a characteristic inverted gull wing and a powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. The early production F4U-1 machines had a heavily framed canopy set well back, which was called the Birdcage for its dense network of frames. It is precisely the intricacy of that canopy that makes hand masking so slow, and that is why pre-cut masks are especially welcome.
This is a set of painting masks, not an aircraft model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
