A printed sheet with the grain of light wood in a natural tone for models in 1:32 scale. It is applied as a wet decal onto a smooth surface.

Wood shows up at every turn on models of older aircraft: on the propellers, on the floor and the side walls of the cockpit, on the bracing and on the areas covered with plywood. Painting a convincing pattern of growth rings with a brush is a long job, and on two parts side by side the result is hard to match up. A printed sheet shortens that work: the pattern is printed in a density matching 1:32 scale and comes out the same on every part.
This is light wood in a natural tone, that is a shade with no pronounced tint toward red or dark. The look of the finished area is also influenced by what lies under it, so choose a light and uniform surface. It pays to try the shade on an offcut before you touch a finished cockpit.
The area under the decal has to be smooth, clean and degreased; on a rough or grainy surface the pattern breaks up. Cut off a piece slightly larger than you need, soak it in water, let it stand and slide it off the paper onto the damp area. Adjust the position with a soft brush, blot the excess water and let the joint dry undisturbed. Choose the decal softener and any overcoating according to the manufacturer's instructions, as with the whole application procedure.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
