This is not a kit of the car but a detail set for one. The sixth part of the Super Detail-up range for the Williams FW14B concentrates on a single area of the model: the power unit. The designation RS3C (Early Type) refers to the early specification of the Renault V10 engine that the car used at the start of the season, and the manufacturer also offers a separate set for the late specification, so you need to choose according to which phase of the season you want to build.
The real subject
The Williams FW14B was a Formula 1 single-seater of the 1992 season, technically outstanding thanks to its active suspension and other electronically controlled systems. It was powered by a naturally aspirated Renault V10 mounted as a load-bearing member between the monocoque and the gearbox. In 1:12 scale the engine is large on the model, clearly visible, and any simplification shows at once when you look into the rear of the car, which is why a separate detail set is made for it.
Follow the assembly order of the car: at this size the engine is built up and painted on its own and goes into the model only when finished. Try the parts dry first and drill any holes with a micro drill bit gradually. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a minimal amount applied with a pin, so that the excess does not flood the fine relief. Build the painting on a contrast of materials, because the block, the heads and the cast iron and aluminum parts each have a different tint; a fine dark wash brings out the parting lines and edges and a dry brush picks out the machined faces. If you are adding lines and wiring, run them in smooth curves and fix them at points only after the paint has dried.
