A set of wheels in cast resin in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Reskit, intended for a model of the modernized version of the fighter MiG-29SMT. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory with which the landing gear wheels in a kit are replaced. The set is designed for one specific kit, which the name states, so check the match with the model you are building before you buy.
Resin is not plastic and behaves differently. The most important thing is the dust that arises when sanding and cutting. It is fine, stays in the air and irritates the airways when inhaled, so sanding is done exclusively wet and with a respirator, ideally outside a living room. The second thing is brittleness. A casting block is never broken off, because resin cracks unpredictably and the fracture can reach the part itself. Cut with a fine saw or a cutting disc at low speed, so that the material does not start to melt from the heat. The third thing is the mold release that stays on the surface and prevents paint from adhering. Lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush remove it.
Once the casting block is cut off, level the contact surface of the wheel on abrasive paper laid on glass and keep trying how the model stands, so that it stands straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate drop by drop, not over the whole surface. Apply a primer before painting. Spray the rim separately and mask it around the circumference with a thin strip of tape. Paint the tire dark gray and at the end add dust pigment on the contact patch and the bottom of the landing gear leg.
This is an accessory in resin, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
