A model of the Japanese sports car Nissan GT-R in 1:32 scale in the Ultimate Metal Silver color variant. A smaller scale means a quicker build and smaller demands on space in a display case, while the shape of the car stays clearly legible. The manufacturer is the Japanese firm Aoshima, which has had modern domestic cars in its program for a long time, in the usual 1:24 scale as well as in the smaller 1:32 range.
The GT-R of the R35 generation replaced the earlier sporting Skyline versions at the end of the 2000s. Technically it is a car built around a turbocharged V6, all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch transmission mounted at the rear, so that the weight is distributed unusually evenly between the axles. Ultimate Metal Silver is among the shades in which the GT-R presented itself from its launch and which show the sharply cut surfaces of the body well.
Silver metallic paint is rewarding and treacherous at the same time. If you are going to paint the body, mix the paint really thoroughly, because the metal pigment settles to the bottom, and spray onto a smooth base, because otherwise every irregularity will stand out. Metallic paint is harder to overspray and to mask, so apply it only at the end of the painting sequence. Details such as the brake calipers, the grilles and the exhaust tips only need going over with a brush, and that moves the result on more than anything else. A thin paneliner in a gray shade will accentuate the gaps in the body.
The model is supplied unassembled. The paints, the glue and the accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
