A detail set from the Czech maker Eduard from the LööK line. Its principle is simple: you get the parts for the cockpit finished and painted, so the most laborious part of building an interior falls away. The set is an accessory to a kit; it does not contain the model itself.
The Tornado is a twin-engine two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed in cooperation between several European states. Version GR.4 is a modernization of the British strike variant with modified avionics. The large cockpit for two crew members is clearly visible on a model in 1:32 scale, so the detail pays off.
The procedure is different from ordinary photo-etch. Do not spray over the painted panel or prime it — you would lose the legibility of the instruments. The original plastic panel from the kit usually has to be cut away or sanded flat, otherwise the new set will not fit into the depth of the cockpit. Let the seatbelts merge with the shape of the seat: let them fall loosely over the edges and fix them with a spot of superglue, as a straight stiff strap looks unnatural. Put the cockpit together dry and try whether the canopy can be closed before you glue anything.
A photo-etched set is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Before buying, check that the set matches your kit.
