A resin figure of a pilot of the Royal Air Force in 1:32 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel, intended above all for models of the Hawker Tempest fighter. The figure gives a model scale and a human dimension; an aircraft with a pilot beside it suddenly tells a story instead of merely showing off a machine.
At the end of the Second World War the Hawker Tempest was among the highest performing fighters of the RAF; it excelled at low altitude, chased V-1 flying bombs and destroyed targets on the ground. Its pilots wore the typical British flying kit: a flight suit or battledress, a life vest, a flying helmet with goggles and a parachute harness. It is exactly these details that make a well painted figure the jewel of a display case.
Wash the resin figure free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting so that the colors hold well. Build the uniform up from a base shade, shadows in the folds and fine highlights on the edges; acrylic paints for figures or oils are ideal. Bring the face to life with fine transitions of flesh tones; in 1:32 scale there is enough room for it.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
