A replacement instrument panel for the cockpit of the Polish fighter PZL P.11c in 1:32 scale. An accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The PZL P.11c was a Polish single-seat fighter of the 1930s, an all-metal high-wing monoplane with a gull wing, fixed landing gear and an open cockpit. The gull shape of the wing, narrowed at the root, gave the pilot unusually good vision forward and upward and became the recognition feature of the whole Polish line. The P.11c version had the engine mounting modified so that the pilot could see better over the nose. By 1939 the aircraft could no longer match contemporary all-metal low-wing fighters in speed, yet it formed the backbone of the Polish fighter force.
An open cockpit means that the viewer sees into it without obstruction and that the instrument panel is the most visible part of it. The injection-molded part from a kit usually has the instruments only suggested, and filling them in with a brush is thankless work. The replacement panel brings finer rendering of the dials and crisper division of the panel, which in 1:32 scale shows at first glance. The name does not give the kit the panel is cut for, so seat it dry before gluing and compare it with the part from the box.
Cut the original panel out with a sharp blade and sand the area flat so that the replacement seats with no gap. Choose the glue according to the material of the part and apply it only in a small amount to the edges, because any surplus is easily squeezed out onto the visible side. Fit the panel before you close the fuselage.
The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
