About product

Sopwith Pup – photo-etched detail set 1:32 (HGW)

A set of brass photo-etched parts for detailing the plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft Sopwith Pup in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory meant to be fitted into the matching kit. The photo-etched parts add the fine elements that injection molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.

The real subject

The Sopwith Pup was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the First World War, deployed from 1916. With a rotary engine and a low weight it stood out for its agility and easy handling. It served both with the British land-based air arm and with British naval aviation.

Use

The photo-etched parts replace and complete the small elements of the cockpit and the airframe – the instrument panels, the fittings, the straps and other details. Separate the parts from the fret, bend them over a sharp edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base for metal.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of British aircraft of the First World War
  • Modelers who want to lift the detail of the cockpit
  • Enthusiasts used to working with photo-etched parts

This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
