An Eduard photo-etched set for models of the British Hawker Tempest Mk. VI fighter in 1:32 scale. It adds the details that cannot be produced in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter of the closing stages of the Second World War. It was powered by a Napier Sabre piston engine with its cylinders arranged in an H, that is in four banks, and it differed from the related Typhoon above all in its thinner wing, which gave it better behavior at high speeds. It was fast both near the ground and at altitude, which made it one of the most effective Allied machines against low-flying targets. The Mk. VI version is one of the late forms of the type.
Photo-etched parts for a model of the Tempest Mk. VI in 1:32 scale. Photo-etching allows a thickness and an edge sharpness that cannot be reached on an injection-molded part, so it suits sheet-metal covers, buckles, levers, instrument panels and similar features. Which parts the set holds and where they belong follows the maker's instructions. In 1:32 scale the difference shows particularly clearly, because the model is large and the viewer takes in even what would be missed in a smaller scale.
Separate the parts with a fresh blade on a hard surface rather than by snapping them off, and sand the remains of the tab flush with the edge. Make the bends in one go and along the whole length of the edge, ideally in a bending tool or between the smooth jaws of pliers. They are bonded with super glue applied on the tip of a wire; plastic cement does not hold here. Degrease the parts before painting and lay down a base coat, or the layer will rub off during further handling. Fit them as late as possible, because a small bent part is harder to straighten than to glue.
Photo-etched parts are supplied. The model, glue and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
