A precisely turned metal barrel from Aber in 1:35 scale, in the version for the tank mounting of the 14.5 mm KPVT heavy machine gun. It is not a model but a replacement part that swaps the plastic barrel on a finished kit for a finer metal one.
The 14.5 mm KPVT machine gun served as anti-aircraft and secondary armament on a range of postwar Soviet armored vehicles. The tank version has a perforated barrel cooling jacket, and turned metal reproduces its fineness far better than plastic does.
Cut off the original barrel, seat the metal part and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before spraying and go over it with a primer for metal so that the paint holds.
This is a metal accessory set, not the model itself. A matching kit is needed for the fitting and is not included in the package.
