This item is not a kit of the truck but a detail accessory in its own right, of etched sheet, which is inserted into an already built or part-built model. The Yahu Models brand specializes in finished instrument panels rendered in color at the factory and in small etched interior details, with which the modeler is spared the laborious hand painting of dials. The accessory is intended for 1:35, that is for the usual size of kits of military and utility vehicles. Büssing-NAG was a German engineering brand based in Braunschweig, which was among the main makers of heavy trucks. The type 500 belongs to the line of medium and heavy utility vehicles of the second half of the 1930s and in design terms it preceded the later, today better known 4500 line. Vehicles of this type were used both in civilian transport and later in army service as transport and rear-area vehicles. The cab of these vehicles had a simple instrument panel with a few round dials, which is precisely the part that etched accessories of this kind concentrate on.
Separate the etched parts with a sharp scalpel on a surface rather than by twisting; thin sheet is easily deformed. Make the folds over a straight edge or in a photo-etch bending tool, so that the fold is crisp. Do not sand or overspray the surfaces rendered in color; choose cyanoacrylate or contact glue in a small amount, because ordinary cement for polystyrene will not bond metal. The original plastic part usually has to be thinned or sanded away before gluing, so that the accessory sits in its place. To bring out depth, it works well to darken the area around the panel slightly and perhaps to add a drop of clear varnish onto the faces of the dials.
This is an accessory for further work, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
