This photo-etched set from Eduard in 1:35 scale serves to refine the detail of a model of the British Centurion Mk. III medium tank. It is not a kit on its own but a set of fine photo-etched parts that replace or supplement features of the plastic kit — the mesh, the mounts, the fenders and the small fittings on the hull and the turret. Eduard is a Czech maker and a leading brand of photo-etched accessories.
The Centurion was a British medium, and later main battle, tank of the period after the Second World War, prized for its balanced combination of armor, firepower and mobility. The Mk. III version carried a 20-pounder gun and proved itself in action, among other places, in the Korean War.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, make the bends in a bending tool and bond them with super glue or epoxy. Fine mesh and mounts markedly improve the fidelity of a model. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer; when weathering, make use of washes and pigments.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a complete model. It requires the matching plastic kit; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
