A floor motif of tiling in 1:35 scale for dioramas and display cases. It creates a regular floor area for an interior.
Responsibility details are not available.
The floor is the largest continuous area in a scene and the eye travels over it first. Regular tiling moreover gives a scene its scale: from the size of the tiles the viewer can tell how large the space is and how tall the figures are. A ready-made floor motif therefore saves not only time but also the risk that an area marked out by hand will not come off.
A tiled floor area in 1:35 scale intended for building dioramas. The size, the number of pieces and the recommended fixing are stated in the manufacturer's instructions. The pattern carries on across the whole area, so the area can be divided up and assembled even into an irregular plan.
Level the undercoat and degrease it, because any unevenness will come through to the surface. Begin the layout from the most visible corner of the scene and hide any joins under furniture, rubble or machinery. Cut with a sharp blade along a rule and change the blade often, because a blunt blade tears the edge. Choose the surface finish, the patinating and the glue according to the material of the part and the manufacturer's instructions; make a test on an offcut. Believability is helped by not leaving the area uniform: a mild variation in the shade of individual tiles and a darker deposit in the corners turn a clean area into a floor that has been walked on.
For builders of dioramas and display case scenes in 1:35 scale who want an interior finished quickly and accurately. Figures, machinery, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
