A resin model of a fuel pump in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. A gasoline pump is a prop around which a whole scene can be built; a stretch of road, a parked vehicle and a figure of an attendant are enough and the diorama tells a story by itself.
The pump is the natural center of a scene of a filling station or a garage, but it will serve on its own by a country road or in the yard of a haulage firm as well. Alongside civilian scenes it has a place in military dioramas too, as columns on the move could not do without civilian infrastructure and equipment taking on fuel is an unusual and yet believable subject. Add jerrycans, drums and small advertising items and the scene comes to life.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The pump suits rich paint colors, red, green or blue, in contrast with metal details. Fine chipping of the edges, traces of rust at the foot and greasy runs around the hose will give the patina of equipment that has served for years. A gloss varnish under the final flatting will help the colored areas come out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
