This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a kit for the whole vehicle. The basic set (vol.1) adds fine metal details to the plastic model of the 3 ton Sd.Kfz.11 half-track tractor in its late configuration: plating, meshes, brackets and small items of equipment, which injected plastic cannot capture at the right thickness. It is meant as an add-on for a model in 1:35 scale.
The Sd.Kfz.11 was a German 3 ton half-track tractor of the Second World War, used above all as an artillery tractor for light and medium guns and as a carrier for other equipment. The late version had a simplified, often wooden cab and further wartime changes. The vehicle also served as the basis for derived special-purpose types.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bending tool. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue. Paint the open and load-carrying parts of the vehicle in stages, so that they stay accessible; a wash and pigments will bring the broken-up surface to life.
