A replacement ACES II ejection seat for a model of the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified part from the kit in the most visible place of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American attack aircraft built around a heavy cannon and designed to take a hit and bring the pilot home. The pilot sits high under a bulged canopy, so on a model more of the cockpit can be seen than on most fighters. He sits on the ACES II ejection seat, which a whole range of American aircraft use and which can save a pilot even at zero altitude and zero speed.
A replacement ACES II seat rendered in 1:48 scale. Details that are only suggested on the part from the kit tend to be rendered more sharply here, and because the seat takes up the most room in the cockpit, the change is visible at first glance. The scope of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, so cement for plastic has no effect on them; make the joints with super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that you do not take anything off the shape. Wash and degrease the seat before painting, otherwise the paint peels. It pays to finish and paint it separately and to set it into the cockpit only when it is done; in an assembled fuselage you can no longer reach every surface.
The model kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
