A set of two resin figures in 1:35 scale. This is not a vehicle kit but an accessory that gives a scene scale and action. The defining element of the casting is the long overcoat: flowing cloth with a high collar and wide lapels, which shapes the whole silhouette of the figure differently from a close-fitting field blouse and which on a model creates large continuous surfaces with pronounced folds.
Figures are cast in parts, as the torso, head and limbs tend to be separate so that the relief gets into the mold from all sides. Every part hangs on a casting block, which is cut off with a saw or a sharp knife; on thin sections such as the wrists or the hem of the coat, take material off in small pieces so that the casting does not crack. After cutting, a mark from the block and a fine parting line remain on the part; go over both with abrasive paper wet and check by looking against the light, because an uncleaned line will appear across the whole figure once the base is sprayed on. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, otherwise the paint will not hold on the mold release residue. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; fill small gaps in the joints with putty.
Stand the figure up dry and decide whether you will paint it as a whole or in parts; it pays to leave the head and hands separate until they are finished. Apply the base, then the darkest tone of the coat as an undercoat and lighter layers gradually only on the raised edges of the folds. It is with an overcoat that working in layers works best, because a large surface without modeling looks flat. Build the skin up from a mid flesh color to fine shadows and highlights, and do the small accessories last. Even the whole figure out with a weak dark wash and matte clear coat.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a base and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
