A photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a model of the German self-propelled gun Geschützwagen Tiger with the 17 cm Kanone 72. It holds the grilles and screens of the covers of the engine compartment cooling vents. This is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory for exchanging the plastic parts.
This was a project for a heavy self-propelled gun built on a lengthened chassis derived from the heavy tank Tiger. It was to carry a 17 cm gun in an open superstructure and to perform long-range artillery support. The vehicle stayed at the development stage and was not produced in series, but among modelers it is a popular subject thanks to its unusual dimensions.
Sand away the solid plastic surfaces of the covers so that the frame is left, and glue the photo-etched part in with cyanoacrylate glue at small points. Make the bends in a bending tool or along a metal ruler. Spray the surface under the grille a dark shade beforehand. The large hull offers room for pronounced weathering, and the grilles are particularly rewarding with pigments.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
