This is a detail photo-etched set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of the German Jagdpanther tank destroyer in 1:35 scale, usable for all versions. The package contains fine parts of etched brass sheet, which replace the coarser plastic elements of the kit, for example the engine deck grilles, the fenders and the tool clamps. Note: it is not a model of the vehicle but a metal accessory for a plastic kit you have already bought.

The real subject

The Jagdpanther was a German tank destroyer built on the chassis of the Panther. It combined thick sloped frontal armor with a powerful 88 mm anti-tank gun and was among the most effective vehicles of its kind at the end of the Second World War. It was in service from 1944 on the Western and the Eastern Front alike.

Usage tips

The photo-etched parts are cut off with a sharp knife or with special scissors, bent over a photo-etch bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. The fine metal grilles over the engine stand out above all with realistic weathering. Degrease the metal and prime it before painting.
