Landing Stage with Tree Vignette in 1:35 scale from the MAiM marque is a diorama vignette that joins the motif of a landing stage with a tree — a scenic base for a model or a figure, not a kit of equipment.

A diorama vignette in 1:35 scale from the MAiM marque combines the motif of a wooden landing stage with a full-grown tree. It is not a model of a vehicle or a figure but a scenic base on which a finished model will come into its own. The set is supplied unpainted and it reckons with being finished by the modeler — cleaned up, seated, painted and possibly completed with details of your own.
In diorama work a tree is one of the hardest items: it wants the right silhouette, a reasonable coarseness of bark and above all foliage that does not come across like a sponge. A ready-made vignette solves this problem for you and at the same time gives the scene a vertical, thanks to which the composition does not fall flat. The motif of a jetty with a tree suits quiet civilian scenes as well as figures in uniform, and it works on its own too, without an accompanying model.
First wash the set in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry perfectly, so that the paint holds. Then apply primer. Build the trunk and the wood of the jetty from a dark base, draw the highlights out with a dry brush and accentuate the structure with a wash. With the foliage it pays to work with several shades of green and brown — a uniform area always gives away that it is a model. Leave the water surface and the gloss effects for the very end and glue the accompanying figure on only once the base is finished.
The vignette is supplied unpainted. The model, the figure, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
