This injection-molded plastic kit captures the LVT-4 Buffalo amphibious tracked vehicle with a 105 mm M2A1 field howitzer mounted in the cargo compartment. The 1:35 scale model from Ding-Hao Hobby is supplied as a set of parts with a decal sheet, and it combines the vehicle hull and a separate weapon in one box.
The LVT (Landing Vehicle, Tracked) was a family of American amphibious carriers fielded above all in the Pacific during the Second World War. The LVT-4 version had its engine moved forward and a hinged rear ramp, which made loading and unloading cargo and lighter vehicles easier. Mounting a 105 mm howitzer turned the vehicle into improvised self-propelled fire support able to swim straight from the sea onto the shore.
We recommend assembling and fine-tuning the running gear and the tracks before you close the hull. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement, apply a primer before painting and ideally spray the shades with an airbrush. Washes and pigments will finally bring the surface to life with mud, dust and traces of use.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
