A masking set in 1:35 scale for the kits of the American half-track vehicles M2A1, M3A2, M3 and M16 from the Dragon company.
Responsibility details are not available.
American half-track vehicles belonged during the Second World War among the most widespread hardware of the Allies. On a common chassis with front wheels and a tracked rear a whole family of machines came about: the M2A1 served mainly with the artillery as a tractor and a reconnaissance vehicle, the M3 and the M3A2 carried infantry, and the M16 carried a rotating turret with a quadruple mount of 12.7 mm machine guns and protected columns against aircraft.
Pre-cut masks for spraying models of the stated vehicles in 1:35 scale. The set is prepared for the kits of the Dragon company, so the shapes fit their parts without additional trimming. Which areas the masks cover and in what order they are applied are stated in the manufacturer's instructions. The masks save time mainly where tape would have to be laboriously cut into curves and around small shapes.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto a surface that is clean, degreased and smooth. Press every piece down around the whole perimeter, above all in the corners, so that the paint does not run under the margin. Apply the paint in thin layers and preferably from the margin of the mask inward. Take the mask off as soon as the paint sets, not after full curing, when there is a risk that it will take the finish with it. When lifting, pull the film back at an angle toward yourself, not straight upward.
The set suits everyone who wants sharp edges without the laborious cutting of tape, and equally modelers who are building several vehicles of this family at once and want the result equally clean on all the machines. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
