The package combines a military motorcycle and figures of American soldiers in 1:35 scale, as the name of the product gives. It is an injection-molded plastic kit on sprues: the parts have to be nipped off, fitted together, glued and painted. The combination of the machine and its crew is practical in that the modeler gets a ready scene in one package and does not have to buy figures separately. The number of parts and the number of figures are given on the box.
With ground units the motorcycle belonged to the typical liaison and reconnaissance equipment; it served to carry orders, to escort columns and to move individuals quickly off the roads. That is exactly why it turns up often in modeling: it is small, builds quickly and completes a diorama scene in which a tank or a truck alone would look static.
On a motorcycle the most delicate parts are the frame and the handlebars; thin parts do not hold their shape if you glue them under tension, so fit them together dry first and fill any play with a drop of thicker glue. It pays to divide the painting: spray the frame and the tank separately from the fenders and the rubber parts, because the transitions would otherwise be very hard to mask. Leave the tires matte and lightly dusted with pigment, and deal with the chrome or metal parts last, so that they are not clogged by matte varnish. Assemble the figures separately from the machine and before the final seating check that the seated figure really sits on the saddle and reaches the handlebars.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
