An injection-molded plastic kit of the Vought F4U-5 Corsair carrier fighter in US Navy (USN) form in 1:48 scale from Minicraft. The parts are molded in gray and clear plastic and the model has recessed (engraved) panel lines, a detailed cockpit and waterslide decals.
The Chance Vought F4U Corsair is one of the best-known piston fighters, recognizable by its cranked wing in the shape of an inverted W. The F4U-5 version was a powerful postwar development stage with a more powerful engine and served above all in the period of the Korean War. The Corsair excelled as a carrier fighter and as a ground-attack aircraft.
Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement. Engraved panel lines respond well to a wash and to dry-brushing. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals and once finished unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the look you want. The cockpit comes out well once the instrument panel has been picked out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
