It is not a vehicle model or a kit but a scale reproduction of a large transport case ready for handling on a pallet, the kind the modern US Army uses for moving equipment. The accessory suits a unit's rear area, a loading ramp, the inside of a hangar, the bed of a truck or an open space beside figures.
Pelican transport cases belong to the ordinary equipment of modern armies as well as civilian operations. They are shell-type boxes of tough plastic with a perimeter seal, folding latches and handles, which protect their contents from impact, dust and damp. The larger types from the bulk transport range are designed to match the dimensions of a pallet and to be stacked and handled with a forklift. That is where their typical boxy shape with molded reinforcements and wheeled fittings on the underside comes from.
Separate the parts carefully, clean up the mating faces and wash and degrease the whole accessory before painting. A thin primer, the base shade sprayed with an airbrush and the details finished with a brush prove their worth. Real cases have a flat, slightly grainy surface, so a flat varnish will support the result. Bring the latches and handles out with dry-brushing and suggest the shipping markings with a decal or a fine brush. Seat the case in the scene so that it sits flat across its whole face and blend the gap at ground level with a fine dusting of pigments.
