A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from Aber with the parts for box-type lubricant tanks and the round holders the tanks were clamped into on a vehicle. The combination of tanks and brackets lets you furnish the fenders and hull of an armored vehicle with small service gear, which gives a model scale and a lived-in look. It is an accessory to plastic kits and dioramas, not a standalone model.
Tanks for lubricant and oil were part of the ordinary service gear of Second World War armor. They were carried in brackets on the fenders, on the sides of the hull or in stowage baskets, where they were quickly to hand during field maintenance. It is exactly these small things that set a model built straight out of the box apart from a vehicle that looks like a living machine in the field.
Nip the parts from the etched fret and clean them up, make the bends on a bending tool or along the scored lines and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a base coat for adhesion. In 1:48 scale the parts are very small, so sharp tweezers and good lighting pay off.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
