A CMK resin conversion set in 1:35 scale for a plastic kit of the French Renault UE tracked carrier. It modifies the vehicle into the standard with an armored body for guard and patrol duty, listed under the designation UE(f). The base kit is not in the package.
The body is not a small accessory laid on the hull; it is a new upper silhouette for the vehicle. The amount of work corresponds to that: it will sit on a modified hull only when the surface underneath it is flat and freed of the original protrusions. Large flat castings can moreover be slightly bowed from production. Before you start gluing, lay them on a sheet of glass and look against the light to see whether they bear on their whole surface.
A bowed resin part is straightened with heat, not with force: immerse it for a few tens of seconds in hot water, shape it carefully and fix it in cold water until it cools. Only then deal with the gluing. Glue the walls of the body on a flat surface and check the corners with a square, as on angular bodies even a small lean is visible at first glance. Finish the joints with thicker cyanoacrylate glue, which will serve as putty at the same time.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a stand-alone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
