A resin set of road wheels in 1:35 scale for models of the Soviet KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks. The castings match the late cast pattern of wheel, that is, the form without a rubber tire band and with the coarse texture of a casting. It is not a kit, but a replacement for the plastic parts on a model you already own.
The KV heavy tanks were an unpleasant surprise for German crews in 1941, because ordinary anti-tank guns could not pierce their armor. Production, however, had to be simplified, and with the shortage of rubber the switch was made to all-steel cast road wheels. Vehicles with them ran noisily and harshly, but they could be built quickly. It is exactly these wheels that are characteristic of the late machines and set them apart from the early series.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the surface with a file and sand with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Fit and paint the wheels before the tracks go on. The coarse surface of the casting comes out well when you let a dark seeping coat dry over the base color and then go lightly over the faces with a dry brush.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
