Aber 35L-043 76.2 mm F-32 barrel is a turned metal barrel in 1:35 for a model of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank of early 1941 production.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic barrel on a model of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in the early 1941 form. The metal part has a perfectly circular cross-section and a drilled-out muzzle, and it has none of the lengthwise seam that a plastic barrel made of two halves always carries. This is not a vehicle kit but a single replacement part.
Degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and apply a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Try the opening in the mantlet of the model dry and widen it with a drill if need be, so that the barrel does not have to be forced in; a metal part is heavier and a barrel that is not seated will droop in time. If the barrel is being glued into plastic, use cyanoacrylate glue, because the plastic kind does not work on metal. Darken the muzzle on the inside so that it does not look blanked off.
For modelers of Soviet vehicles who build the early KV-1, and for anyone who is bothered by a seam on the barrel of a model. The accessory also helps the model stand up to being looked at from close to and from the front, where the barrel is most visible.
This is an accessory, not a vehicle kit. The basic model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
