An accessory for painting the wheels of the transport trailer, not a kit. The masks replace lining the border between tire band and rim with a brush. The cutouts are cut for the wheels from the 1:35 scale Sd.Ah.52 kit by Bronco.
A wheel is not a flat surface. The rim is usually dished or pressed and the flank of the tire curves away, so a flat cutout off a sheet has to settle into that curvature first. If you stick it down in one stroke, small ripples form around the circumference, and it is into those that the paint will bleed. Work from the center outwards instead: seat the mask in the middle, press it down and then smooth it with your thumb or a wooden skewer in short strokes out to the edge, so the excess is spread out evenly. It helps if both the wheel and the mask are slightly warm, as the material is more pliable. If a fold does form in one spot anyway, it is better to leave it alone and spray square from above at lower pressure: a slanting stream of air gets under a fold at once, a square one far less easily. The crucial thing is above all to press the inner circumference of the cutout down, because that is where the sharp edge is made.
Prime and degrease the wheel before masking. Apply the paint in thin coats. Remove the mask as soon as the paint has flashed off, pulling it across the edge rather than straight up.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. Paints, thinner and the target kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
