The Quickboost 1:48 F-16A/B Fighting Falcon undercarriage covers is a resin set of landing gear doors for the early versions of the Fighting Falcon. It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone aircraft model.

Resin landing gear doors from the Quickboost brand, made by the Czech firm Aires, in 1:48 scale. They replace the covers of the landing gear bays and legs from a plastic kit of the General Dynamics F-16 in the A and B versions. The main advantage of a resin casting is the wall thickness: a plastic part has to be thick because of the injection molding process, whereas a resin door can have a wall close to scale and still carry the detail of the stiffeners and the lips on the inner side as well. On a model with the landing gear extended, that is one of the details a viewer notices at once.
The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft with an aerodynamically unstable layout and fly-by-wire controls. The F-16A version is single-seat, the F-16B a two-seat combat-capable trainer; both belong to the first generation of the type, with a smaller dorsal fairing and a smaller intake than the later blocks. On the F-16 the nose gear is housed behind the intake, the main legs retract into the fuselage, and all the bays are closed by fairly large doors with a pronounced internal structure.
First wash the parts, so that no mold release agent stays on them. The doors are thin and crack easily when cut off the casting block, so work with a saw and without pressure. If a casting bows, carefully straighten it in lukewarm water and let it cool in a flat position. Spray the inner sides of the doors together with the bays in the same shade, so that the transition does not show, and pull the detail out with a dark wash. Glue the doors with super glue at the very end, when the model is painted and clear coated, otherwise you will break them off again and again during handling.
The parts are supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
