A resin set in 1:35 scale depicting a Finnish crew with a heavy machine gun loaded on a sled in the period of the Winter War of 1939 and 1940. It is a figural and equipment addition to a diorama, not a vehicle kit. All the castings are supplied unpainted and unassembled.
On the northern front a sled was the usual way of moving a heavy weapon and its ammunition through deep snow where vehicles could not get through; it was pulled by soldiers or by a draft animal. The machine gun is a water-cooled weapon operated by several men and set on a heavy mount. The figures wear winter clothing with warm headgear. For a diorama this is a complete scene in one box: the weapon, the means of transport and the crew together make up a tableau that needs no further additions.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and an accelerator helps on the thin parts of the sled and the mount. Build the wood of the sled up in glazes over a light base, and do the metal of the weapon in a dark steel color with graphite wear. Keep the winter clothing in muted tones and add a wash in the folds. For the snow use a texture paste or modeling snow; bring out the runner tracks with a gloss medium.
The castings are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
