A photo-etched detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a faithful rendering of the side armor skirts on models of the Panther medium tank in the Ausf. A and D versions and on the Bergepanther recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale. The set replaces the coarser plastic skirts from an ordinary kit with thin metal parts.
The Panther was among the most capable German medium tanks of the Second World War, with well sloped armor and a 75 mm gun. The Bergepanther was a heavy recovery tractor built on its chassis. The side skirts protected the upper part of the running gear and on a model they tend to be the most conspicuous element of the silhouette, so it pays to have them as thin as possible.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, shape the bends on a photo-etch bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. You can bend or damage the skirts slightly for a battle-worn look. After airbrushing, the details come out thanks to washes, filters and earth pigments.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
