A detail set intended for refining a model of the Soviet heavy tank KV-1 in the form in which the Finnish army used and modified it after capture. Sets of this type hold photo-etched metal parts for the fenders, the tool brackets, the covers and grilles of the engine compartment, the clasps and other small fittings of the hull and the turret. It is an accessory to a plastic kit in 1:35 scale you have already bought, not a model of a vehicle in its own right.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank from the start of the Second World War, known for its heavy armor and great weight. The Finnish army obtained several captured pieces during the fighting and took them into service, adapting them to its own needs, typically with changes to the external fittings, the tools and the markings. It is precisely these modifications that make the Finnish KV-1 a rewarding subject and one easily told apart from the standard Soviet form.
Work block by block according to the instructions; remove the plastic originals first and level the surfaces. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, make the bends in a bending tool and hold small pieces with tweezers. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) onto degreased metal. Before painting, spray the whole model with a primer. Finnish vehicles tend to be rewarding for bold markings and for winter or summer camouflage, so match the weathering to that.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
