What the set contains

A complete set of road wheels for models of the M60A1 to M60A3 in 1:35 scale. There are fourteen wheels in it in all, in the form the manufacturer designates as steel, type 1. It is therefore a replacement for the kit wheels for the whole running gear at once, not an accessory for a single wheel.

Why replace the wheels from the kit

The wheels are very much on show on a tank model, and it is precisely on them that the simplification of shapes and the excess material from manufacture tend to show on injected parts. A separate set tends to be more sharply shaped and also allows you to choose a form the kit does not contain, because the type of wheels differs between machines of the M60 family. The replacement does not call for any work on the hull: the wheels are fitted in the same places as the parts from the kit and the rest of the running gear stays unchanged.

Building and painting tips

• Before gluing, check the diameter of the wheel and the shape of the mounting against the parts of the kit.
• Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; cement for polystyrene usually does not hold on add-on sets.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, as otherwise the paint flakes off a smooth surface.
• Glue the wheels on only after the tracks are finished, as they are then easier to line up in one plane.

What is not in the box

The set contains the wheel parts themselves. The model, tracks, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise. The particular procedure for preparing the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
