A turned metal 4 inch Stokes mortar for the British Mark IV Tadpole tank in 1:35 scale from the firm Aber. A detail accessory, not a kit in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal barrel of the 4 inch Stokes mortar for the British experimental Mark IV Tadpole tank of the First World War, in 1:35 scale from the firm Aber. It is not a model of the vehicle but a precise metal accessory that replaces the plastic mortar part. It is intended for models of the Mark IV tank in the Tadpole version.
The Tadpole was an experimental modification of the Mark IV tank with lengthened track horns at the rear, so that it could cross wide trenches better. A 4 inch Stokes mortar was mounted at the rear of some machines, which gave the tank the ability to deliver indirect fire. The Stokes mortar was among the first modern mortars of its day.
The turned mortar barrel has a faithful bore and needs no drilling. Separate the part from the casting residue, degrease it and attach it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Prime the metal surface before painting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
