Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The set covers the small tracked TKS tankette in the version with the MG 15 machine gun, and with it the universal transport trailer on which these vehicles were moved by road. There are therefore two separate subjects in one package, and they can also be built as a transport combination. The model is supplied as an unassembled set of plastic parts with decals.
The TKS was a Polish tankette of the 1930s, that is a very small tracked vehicle with a crew of two intended for reconnaissance and infantry escort. Given their size and weight, tankettes were not moved over long distances under their own power but were carried on a wheeled universal transport trailer towed by a truck, which spared the tracks and the power unit. After 1939 some of the captured vehicles went into second-line service, and on that occasion they were rearmed with the MG 15 aircraft machine gun. In their new role they served above all on auxiliary, guard and signals duties.
The tankette is genuinely small, so work on a light surface and use liquid cement for plastic. Finish the running gear and the inner walls before closing the hull. Apply a filler primer before painting. In this scale keep the weathering in proportion to the size of the vehicle; a dark wash in the gaps, gentle lightening of the upper surfaces and dust on the running gear work well. Build and paint the trailer separately; the vehicle on the trailer then looks good even as a vignette on its own.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
