A 1:35 decal set from AK Interactive with markings for American vehicles deployed in North Africa in 1942–1943. It covers the M2 and M3 Halftrack carriers and the M5A1 Stuart light tank. These are wet transfers, which once applied behave more realistically than conventional decals and follow the surface better. The set is for finishing models that are already built; it is not a kit.
During Operation Torch and the fighting that followed in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, the US Army deployed large numbers of M2 and M3 halftracks and M5A1 Stuart light tanks. The halftracks served as armored personnel carriers, weapon carriers and prime movers, while the M5A1 Stuart was a fast reconnaissance and escort tank. The vehicles carried distinctive tactical numbers, stars and unit markings that let you place a model precisely in a particular combat situation.
First give the area under the marking a gloss clear coat so that no silvering appears beneath it. Apply the marking to a smoothed surface, blot off the excess water and adhesive, and once dry seal it with a matte or satin clear coat. With wet transfers, follow the instructions from the manufacturer.
This is a decal set, not a model. The model itself, paints and clear coats are not included in the package.
