The real subject

Operational and topographic maps were part of the basic equipment of staffs as well as units during the invasion in June 1944. Spread out on the table of a command post, in an officer's hands or on the hood of a vehicle, they give a scene a story and an authentic context.

Use

• Cut the individual maps out and, if you like, fold or crumple them for a period look.
• Glue them with PVA or liquid glue onto a surface, a table or into the hands of figures.
• The edges can be brought out lightly with pastel or a toning wash for an effect of use.
• Suitable for command posts, interiors and outdoor scenes.
