The Greek workshop ETA Diorama relies on faithful wood grain, printing and markings. It is not a vehicle kit and not a resin casting but a printed decorative item for dioramas and display cases.
Ammunition crates fill trenches, stores, the load beds of vehicles and the area around guns and machine guns very well. They give a scene its logistical context and a small but telling detail. The paper version can be folded and glued onto a simple core, which makes a three-dimensional crate with a faithful surface.
Glue the print onto thin card or a balsa core for strength and volume. The edges can be picked out gently with a dark wash, so that the planks stand out. Matte varnish unifies the surface and protects the print from rubbing; pigments add dust and mud.
