An injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Dreadnought in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda. The model captures the characteristic silhouette of the first modern battleship with its main-caliber turrets and lattice masts, and it comes with a display base. Take the exact contents from the enclosed instructions.
HMS Dreadnought of 1906 brought a revolution in warship design. She was the first to carry a uniform heavy main caliber (ten 305 mm guns) instead of the previous mix of different calibers, and the first battleship to be driven by steam turbines, which gave her a speed unheard of until then. Her name became a byword: ships of a similar concept came to be called dreadnoughts.
Set the hull straight on the base supplied and leave the main-caliber turrets free to move until the paint has dried. Glue with a thin cement for plastic and clean up the fine edges and the lattice masts. For a period look, a dark naval gray with discreet washes into the seams, deck accenting with a dry brush and a fine patina at the waterline all work well. Photo-etched railing sets, sold separately as accessories, make a suitable addition.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
