Responsibility details are not available.
This extensive plastic kit from Hobby Boss captures the American large cruiser USS Hawaii (CB-3) of the Alaska class in 1:350 scale. The model is supplied as a full-hull kit with a richly detailed superstructure, the complete armament, fine masts, ship's boats, a catapult, shipboard aircraft and photo-etched parts. The finished model reaches a length of over 70 cm.
USS Hawaii was the third unit of the American Alaska class, which was designated as large cruisers. Construction of the ship was begun during the Second World War, but the vessel was never completed and it never entered service. It was the first ship of the US Navy named after what was then the Territory of Hawaii. The Alaska class represented powerful gun vessels with a main battery of 305 mm.
Decide whether you are building the full-hull version on a stand or a waterline model. Undercoat the hull and the decks with primer, spray with an airbrush and pay attention to masking the waterline. Glue the fine photo-etched railings and masts with super glue. Fine-tune the shades and the weathering with washes and a dry brush to bring out the rivets and the details.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
