An injection-molded plastic kit of the German submarine U-1064 of Type VIIC/41 (the Turm IV version of the conning tower) in 1:400 scale from the manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The model has a full hull and holds parts of gray plastic, decals and a stand. It captures the late variant of Type VII with its modified conning tower.
Type VIIC/41 was the late version of the most widespread German Type VII, with a modified pressure hull that allowed a greater operating depth. The late boats carried an enlarged anti-aircraft armament on the conning tower designated Turm IV. U-1064 was built in the closing stage of the war.
In 1:400 scale, butt-glue the halves of the hull and sand the seam finely. Pay attention to the more complicated conning tower with its anti-aircraft platforms. For painting use dark gray naval shades, a primer base and a matte varnish; fine accenting of the detail will give the model depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
