A masking set for the model of the German Panther Ausf. D medium tank in 1:48 scale, cut for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panther Ausf. D is the first production form of the German Panther medium tank. It is told by its cylindrical commander's cupola, which projects from the left side of the turret, and by the vertical flap for the machine gun in the frontal armor of the hull; a ball mount for the machine gun came only with the later versions. Anyone building a Panther usually decides by precisely these two features, because otherwise the versions look alike at first glance.
A masking set for the Panther Ausf. D model in 1:48 scale, cut for the Tamiya kit. The masks save lining the transitions by hand: a piece is applied to the model, the area is sprayed over and the mask is then lifted off, so the edge comes out sharp even where a brush could not hold it. Which parts of the model the set covers should be checked in the instructions from the manufacturer, and the individual pieces should first be held in place dry.
Always apply the mask before spraying, and onto a dry base. Press the edges down thoroughly so paint cannot run under them, and spray square to the surface rather than at a slant against the edge of the mask. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat creates a step at the edge that is visible once the mask is off. Lift the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch; after longer it peels away along with the finish.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
