The Eduard 1:48 A-26B bomb bay is a photo-etched detail set for raising the fidelity of the bomb bay of the Douglas A-26 Invader bomber. It is not an airplane model but an accessory to a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched brass set from the Czech maker Eduard intended for detailing the bomb bay of a model of the Douglas A-26 Invader in the B version, in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory, not a model of the aircraft in its own right: it replaces and supplements the plastic parts with fine photo-etched elements such as the walls of the bay, the bomb racks, the ribbing and technical detail that injection-molded plastic cannot render so finely.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft from the end of the Second World War. The A-26B version carried the full attack nose with fixed gun armament and it was intended for low-level attack as well as for conventional bombing. The aircraft served in the Korean and Vietnam wars too, where it was also known under the designation B-26.
The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife on a glass or other hard surface and bent with a photo-etch bender. Super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a two-part epoxy suits them for gluing; for large areas a thin cement for metal will do. Degrease the parts before painting and put a primer on, so that the paint grips the smooth brass well.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
