An accessory set from the Czech manufacturer Plus Model in 1:48 scale for wartime dioramas. The subject is the warning marking of a mined area as the German army used it during the Second World War, boards with the wording Achtung Minen (Beware of mines) placed along roads and fields. A small element that gives a scene tension and a story at once.
Mined areas were marked for practical reasons: a force needed to know where its own safe passage led. German engineer units used wooden or sheet metal boards with a warning wording for this, often completed by the symbol of a skull and hung on stakes or on wire obstacles. On dioramas this marking credibly bounds the space of a battlefield and leads the eye of the viewer.
Wash the resin parts, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The boards come into their own with a combination of weathered wood (drybrushing in light shades over a dark base) and chipped lettering. Set the stakes into the terrain slightly crooked, as perfect geometry looks out of place on a battlefield. Dust and mud from pigments will join the set to the rest of the scene.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
