Eduard 1:48 Boeing F/A-18F Hornet is a set of pre-cut masks of kabuki tape for a model of the two-seat carrier-based aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the build, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains masks cut from thin kabuki-type masking tape, intended to cover the glazing and other surfaces of an F/A-18F model in 1:48 scale. The masks follow the shape of the parts, so you do not have to struggle with cutting tape by hand to match the cockpit framing. They are made by the Czech company Eduard. The package contains no model of the aircraft and no paints; it is an accessory for a base kit.
The F/A-18F is the two-seat version of the carrier-based multirole aircraft of the Super Hornet family. Compared with the older machines of the F/A-18 family it has a larger airframe, differently arranged air intakes and more powerful engines. The rear seat is taken by a second crew member, who handles the systems. The long two-seat cockpit canopy is a prominent element on a model and its framing forms a large area to mask.
First free the glazing of grease and fingerprints. Lift out the individual masks with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay them in place and press them down over a wooden stick, so that the edges bed down well. Apply the paint in several thin layers, otherwise it will run under the edge. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried. The remaining areas of glazing can be covered with ordinary masking tape.
The set contains no kit and no paints. The masks are cut to the shape of the parts of a particular model, so check before buying that they match the kit you are building.
