Decals in 1:48 for a pair of twin engine Mitchells: the machine 43-4432 with the number 6N and the aircraft 43-94512 with the number 6V, both in film form.

This sheet aims at a pair of twin engine North American Mitchell bombers in the form they received for the needs of a famous film adaptation of an antiwar novel. The first machine is the version with a solid gun nose, serial number 43-4432 and the fuselage numeral 6N; the second the late variant 43-94512 with the numeral 6V. At the end of the 1960s the film production gathered a whole flight of these aircraft, repainted them in a uniform scheme and shot mass takeoffs from a dusty field with them.
That is exactly why both subjects are interesting for a modeler: these are not combat machines from the end of the war but civil registered aircraft that took on a wartime appearance. The numerals on the fuselage served the crew for telling individual examples apart during filming, and some of these machines kept the film markings in later collectors' service as well.
The forward part of the fuselage differs fundamentally between the two versions, so check in advance which of them your kit represents; a nose with gun barrels and a glazed nose have a different length as well as shape. The numerals on the fuselage are large and applied right next to the entry door, so settle them on a smooth and glossy base and measure the position from a drawing before transferring them. Once dry and given a matte top coat, the surface looks more uniform than with paint alone. The package holds only printed markings; the model and glue are not in it.
